Holidays

Manage each store's holiday calendar — load a country's national holidays and add your own custom days.

Holidays

Each store keeps its own holiday calendar. ClockTap can load a country's national holidays automatically, and you can layer your own custom holidays on top — like a store anniversary, a local fiesta, or a one-off closure. Holidays feed into pay calculations, so keeping the calendar accurate keeps payroll accurate.

Open Holidays from the sidebar, then pick the store you want to manage from the store picker.

Adding a custom holiday

Add a custom holiday

Open the holidays calendar, add a store-specific day, and choose how it's paid.

To add a holiday that isn't part of the national calendar:

  1. Select the store from the store picker, then open Holidays.
  2. Click Add Holiday.
  3. Pick the date. Use the year arrows at the top to move between years.
  4. Give the holiday a name (for example, Store Anniversary).
  5. Choose the holiday type — this controls how the day is paid.
  6. Click Add Holiday to save. It appears on the calendar straight away with a Custom marker.

Holiday types

The holiday type tells the payroll calculation how to treat hours worked on that day:

  • Regular Holiday — the highest premium; used for national regular holidays.
  • Special Non-Working Holiday — a premium applies to hours worked, but the day is otherwise non-working.
  • Special Working Holiday — a normal working day with no premium.

Country calendar

Choose a country calendar to load that country's national holidays automatically for the selected year. Country holidays are marked separately from your custom ones, so you can always tell what came from the calendar and what you added.

Editing and hiding holidays

  • Custom holidays can be edited or deleted at any time.
  • Country holidays can be edited for a single store (for example, to rename one or move its observed date) or hidden when your store stays open that day. Hidden and edited country holidays are tagged so the change is easy to spot — and easy to undo.

Holidays are configured per store, so a closure at one branch never affects another.
